Wiltshire Air Ambulance at first AAUK Fundraising Conference

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK), the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK's air ambulance charities, hosted its first ever Fundraising Conference this week (13 June) at The Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham.

A conference taking place in a packed room

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was represented at the event by its deputy director of income generation Rebecca de la Bedoyere, senior marketing and communications manager Adam Baker and business development manager Katy Burke.

AAUK chief executive Simmy Akhtar opened the Fundraising conference, which saw representatives from 13 air ambulance charities from across the UK come together to collaborate and learn from peers, with 11 speakers giving eight sessions.

Delegates enthusiastically took part in a speed networking session, making the most of the opportunity to build relationships and share fundraising techniques.

The Fundraising Conference was organised in response to feedback from colleagues about the need for such a space to collaborate with peers across the UK, the conference was a welcome opportunity for charities to come together and discuss fundraising strategies and best practices.

Black Bear Creative Ltd sponsored the conference, and Kirsty Stancombe, client development director, and Tim Wickens, CEO, were in attendance. The day was enjoyed in scorching weather at a fantastic venue.
