Air Ambulances UK 2023 awards

Rob, a much-admired pilot, passed away at the age of 42 in April 2023 after a short battle with cancer.

He joined Wiltshire Air Ambulance in 2016 after serving over 10 years in the British Army.

Rob loved working for the charity and the staff loved him. He was so passionate about our cause and understood the importance of being a team player.

He had a real passion for environmental sustainability, a strong faith and was always positive.

Rob’s widow Hattie was in attendance at the Annual Awards of Excellence to collect the award, alongside chief pilot Matt Wilcock.

There was a standing ovation from the packed auditorium when the award was announcing, as attendees heard how Rob had continued to dedicate himself to his work and colleagues, despite receiving news of his diagnosis, which halted his flying.

A black and white photograph of a pilot stood in front of the helicopter wearing a flight suit.
