Mr Martin, an Ambassador for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and star of BBC’s Flog It!, will link up with the family-run business at Melksham Assembly Hall on Saturday 25 January 2020, from 10am-3pm.
Entry is free and attendees can bring along antiques, jewellery and collectables they would like to receive free valuations for, with no obligation to sell.
With over half a century of experience in the industry, Mr Martin and specialists from Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd will give a guide price on what each item should expect to go for if it was sold at auction.
Attendees will have the option to put forward their item or items for sale at Fine Art Antiques and Collectables Sale auctions – either on Saturday 1 February or Saturday 14 March – with 100% of the sellers commission from every sale being donated by Henry Aldridge and Son Ltd to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Mr Martin, who lives in Seend, said: “I’ve been an Ambassador for Wiltshire Air Ambulance for three years now because it’s a charity that is so important to the local area.
“It requires the support of the public and local businesses, such as Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd, to help generate the £3.75 million it needs every year to keep flying and saving lives.
“I’m really looking forward to linking up with Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd for this project, which will benefit the people of Wiltshire and their air ambulance.
“So if you’ve got an antique or a collectable stashed away, even if you don’t plan to sell it, why not pop along and receive a free valuation on Saturday 25 January.”
Andrew Aldridge, managing director of Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd, said: “We are delighted to work with the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Paul Martin. Whether it be collector’s items such as postcards, autographs, military medals or memorabilia from famous events or more traditional antiques, jewellery or paintings why not bring them in for a free valuation.
“We will be donating 100% of the seller’s commission for items that are put forward to one of our auctions so this will raise much needed funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.”
Wiltshire Air Ambulance fundraising manager Des Regan said: “This is a fantastic way for one of our Ambassadors to use their skills and link up with a local business to help generate funds for our charity.
“We can’t thank Paul and the team at Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd enough for their support in putting on this event, as well as Melksham Assembly Hall for hosting us, and we’d like to see as many people as possible coming out to support the event.”
It also marks the start of a landmark year for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. It began operating in 1990 and the charity has a host of events lined up to celebrate its 30th year anniversary.
Ambassador Mr Martin has already fronted a campaign, The Sky’s The Limit, for small businesses in Wiltshire. Companies are tasked with being entrepreneurial by taking a £50 fund from Wiltshire Air Ambulance sponsors Chippenham Motor Company and turning it into sizeable charitable donation back to the charity.
