Our yellow and green Bell 429 helicopter is the first of its type to be used as an air ambulance in the UK. If you see it in the sky it can fly at a top speed of 178 mph and its call sign is Helimed22, so keep an eye out!
Our helicopter can accommodate a pilot, two paramedics, a patient and a passenger, if needed. On board you'll find all of the equipment you'd find on a land ambulance.
We also have specialist kit so our crew can provide the best medical care possible. This is all paid for by your kind donations!
Our paramedics also use Rapid Response Cars to attend incidents by road when our helicopter is unable to fly or if it is quicker to reach the location using the cars. The cars have the same medical equipment that is onboard our helicopter.
POUNDS A YEAR
Richard has been a Trustee of Wiltshire Air Ambulance since its inception in 2011. Having formally been a partner of Graham Miller & Co. - City loss adjusters - he is now retired.
He was chairman of the so called ‘Shadow Board of Trustees’ a pressure group formed to encourage the NHS to make Wiltshire Air Ambulance become an independent Trust, which motivated him to step forward to be a Trustee.
Our journey starts with our mission statement which is simple.

We do this by raising sufficient funds to finance an air ambulance service in Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas.
