Keeping you updated

Wiltshire Air Ambulance has been busy getting its own pilots and paramedics operational with the back-up helicopter, MD 902, in the past week.

Since the stand-in helicopter arrived from Specialist Aviation Services last Friday (11 January), we have already been called to 15 incidents, seven in the helicopter, flying to Swindon, Devizes, Calne, Stroud, Farrington Gurney and Weston-super-Mare.

With regards to our Bell 429 helicopter, the cause of the recent occurrence remains under investigation.

As a charity, we are still working with Bell Helicopter, the AAIB (Air Accidents Investigation Branch) and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) on the matter.

We remain intent on securing our own Air Operator Certificate and work on this continues in earnest, although nothing can be finalised until the Bell 429 investigation is concluded.

Importantly, we will continue to attend incidents with the MD 902 helicopter and through our two Rapid Response Vehicles, serving the people of Wiltshire and surrounding counties, throughout the above process.

We will continue to keep our supporters updated, as and when is appropriate.
