A head shave, skydive and sporting challenges!

Our charity relies on donations and we are so grateful for the support we receive from all sections of the community.

Here is a round-up of some of the fundraising that has taken place recently.

Following their fun run at the Devizes Half Marathon we welcomed youngsters from the under-6s side at Devizes Youth Football team to our airbase at Semington, near Melksham, where they presented a cheque.

Carol Molland, of Salisbury, marked her 70thbirthday by jumping out of a plane and raising funds for us. She completed a skydive at Old Sarum Airfield and presented the proceeds when she visited our airbase with her husband and granddaughter.

Before they broke up for the summer holidays, students and staff at Melksham Oak Community School took part in a 12-hour sportathon, the latest fundraising event for out charity in the last three years.

Former patient Stuart Hershbein is a PE teacher at the school and he and students visited our airbase to present a cheque.

Year six pupil Louie Parks, of Trowbridge, showed his support by having his head shaved and raising sponsorship. He is pictured before and after at The Cutting Bar, Trowbridge, and presenting the proceeds when he visited our airbase.

How to get involved in fundraising for our charity

Our volunteers Dennis Davies and Debbie Wilkie visited Calne Running Club to receive a cheque from their Compton Bassett five mile event. This is the second year the club has supported us and they plan to do so again next year

Other supporters who have visited our airbase included;

Members of the Freemasons Forget Me Not Lodge 9035, of Ludgershall, who presented a cheque.

Staff from Sodexo, Warminster, who presented the funds raised at their Easter Egg raffle.

Organisers of a charity JAM ball, held at Wellington Barn, at Calstone,to present a cheque.

Finally, members of Marlborough & District Rotary Club, including President Martin Luxford who is also a volunteer with our charity, to present the proceeds from their Spring fair.

The amount of the donations above totals more than £11,460.

Remember our charity is not funded directly by the Government and receives no National Lottery grants. We have to raise £3.75 million a year to continue saving lives.
