Fantastic new lottery ready for Lift-Off!!

Dear WAAA:

What a WONDERFUL surprise your phone call and letter were - enclosing a cheque for £700!  I am so excited and thrilled, I could not support a more deserving cause each month.

I now enclose a cheque for £50.00 towards your funds and it comes with my love and gratitude.  I am visiting my son and his wife in Zimbabwe in May 2010 and this is a ' ' towards helping them - thank you again and bless you all.

From
A Delighted Lottery Winner

Well done Mr Pratt of Purton
Well done Mr Pratt of Purton!

Our congratulations go to Mr Pratt of Purton, who became the very first winner of the new Wiltshire Air Ambulance Lottery.

Richard Miller, Paramedic, visited Mr Pratt and presented him with his winning cheque, after HRH The Duchess Of Cornwall drew Mr Pratt's ticket out of the hat first during the first lottery draw at Clarence House.

Mr Pratt was absolutely delighted but hadn't decided what he was going to spend his winnings on yet.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal would like to thank Mr Pratt for his support of the new lottery, and wish him, and all of our other lottery supporters, the best of luck in the future!

The fantastic new Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal (WAAA) Lottery is ready for take-off in an attempt to make fundraising for our region’s Air Ambulance even more fun!

At just £1 per week per number, local people can really make a difference in helping Wiltshire Air Ambulance save lives and also have the chance to win up to £1000 every week of the year!

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance, based at Police HQ in Devizes, is a shared operation with Wiltshire Police and covers the whole of the Wiltshire region, serving over 642,000 people, plus the further million who travel through the region every day on the busy road network.

Reaching the furthest point of its area in just 16 minutes, the helicopter provides a vital service 365 days of the year, 19 hours a day.  The Appeal needs to raise in excess of £500,000 per year to keep the helicopter flying, and receives no Government or National Lottery funding.

WAAA Administrator Melanie Gee hopes the exciting new lottery will form the backbone of the service’s fundraising efforts.  Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the new WAAA Development Society (the operators of the new scheme) Melanie said:

“This is a great way for local people to support their air ambulance service.  Since the service launched in 1990 we have attended over 10,000 incidents, saving hundreds, if not, thousands of lives.  That is how important the service is to the county of Wiltshire.  This new lottery gives people the chance to contribute to our fundraising efforts in a simple, cost effective and fun way and enables us to give something back every week in cash prizes.”

The WAA Lottery Team will be out and about over the coming months signing supporters up to the new lottery.

To sign up for the WAA Lottery call 0844 567 0844 or complete the application form and post it to address "Freepost Lottery Response".
