Teaching lifesaving skills
Please note, we are currently taking bookings from September 2024 onwards.
Since 2020, all state-funded schools in England are required to teach first aid as part of the PSHE elements of the National Curriculum.
Our Emergency Awareness Training programme is an interactive training session for young people and delivers a range of lifesaving skills including:
- Making a 999 call
- Managing an unconscious patient
- How to perform CPR
- Correct operation of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- Assisting a person who is choking
- Bleeding control and wound management
- Management of minor/major head injury
- Treatment of burns

Emergency Awareness Training
Sessions can be tailored to engage all ages and meet the needs of community groups, in addition to our school’s programme.
Our aim is to educate the community and provide them with the knowledge to confidently manage a medical emergency prior to the arrival of an Ambulance.
There is a £2 per child charge for Emergency Awareness Training for the school’s programme.
Accredited First Aid Training
We are delighted to offer Accredited First Aid Training for businesses and individuals across Wiltshire and Bath.
There are two options available, a one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course or a more comprehensive three-day First Aid at Work course.
Training takes place at our airbase in Semington, but we can also provide training at your workplace for groups of 10. Certificates last for three years but you can come to us for an annual refresher.

Since the launch of our Emergency Awareness Training Programme in 2019, we have taught over 33,500 children lifesaving skills including how to perform CPR, how to use an external defibrillator and other first aid skills.
