ARE YOU A TAX PAYER? Your donation could be worth 25p in the pound more at no cost to you. If you are a tax payer and would like the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal to treat your gift as a donation under the Gift Aid Scheme please let us know when making your donation.
You must pay an amount of Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax the charity reclaims on your donations in the tax year in order to qualify for Gift Aid. In 2008/9 the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal managed to reclaim tax amount to £5,438, so please be sure to let us know if you would like us to Gift Aid your donation.

Payroll Giving and Home Office Grants

The Home Office recently announced a grant programme designed to get small and medium sized companies to set up payroll giving schemes. The scheme encourages local companies to help their staff make a monthly donation from their salary before tax.

Depending on its size, a company will receive a grant of up to £500 to set up the scheme and the government will match each donation (up to £10) made by employees for the first six months. As any payroll giving donation is made before PAYE tax is calculated, donations cost employees less. An individual's donation of £5 per month would only cost £3.90, as the taxman would pay the rest. With Home Office matching, £3.90 is worth £10 to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal. The charity understands that we only receive this special donation because of someone’s loss and we endeavour to deal with these sorts of donations and the families making them with sensitivity, care and compassion.
