Wiltshire Air Ambulance Clothing and Shoe Bank Scheme

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance is delighted to announce the launch of their Clothing and Shoe Bank Scheme throughout the County of Wiltshire. In the photo, Richard Miller, Paramedic Clinical Team Leader, and Danny Williamson of Devizes Textiles deposit a donation of clothes into our first Clothing Bank, which is located at Devizes Textiles, Unit 3, Garden Trading Estate, London Road, Devizes, SN10 2HW. There is also a second Clothing Bank sited at Police HQ in Devizes and we are currently in the process of recruiting further locations.

If every household in Wiltshire donated one large bag of old clothing and shoes to the WAA, it would generate over 2,000 tonnes of recyclable goods per year. Devizes Textiles work with local authorities and charities under the unique Recyclatex Bonded Textile Bank Scheme, and currently supply winter and summer clothing to East Africa, West Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Not only will this Scheme generate much need funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal, but with the help, support and generosity of the people of Wiltshire, it will help produce a small regular income for the Appeal. The more locations that we have the more successful the scheme will be, so if you have a location which you feel would be suitable for a Clothing Bank to be sited and can easily be accessed by the General Public to make their donations, then please call the WAA Appeal office on 0845 122 1423.
